ABOUT JANE

Jane Reväe McWhirter is a visual artist from Saskatoon, SK, on Treaty 6 Territory. Jane received her BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, majoring in painting and ceramics.​

 

 Jane's work often involves themes of healing, vulnerability, connection, personal growth, overcoming trauma, issues of mental health, feminism, nature and the occult. Jane's work often features women experiencing a wide array of emotions; wanting to capture a small glimpse of what it means to be a strong woman embracing her authentic self and overcoming whatever comes her way.

Witch & Altar

In the past, powerful women have been demonized, categorized as witches, suppressed, tortured and controlled. Witches are not evil, nor vengeful, as they are traditionally portrayed. A witch is a woman in her power, in touch with herself, the earth, and the universe.
